The 19th Annual Fort Festival of Trees sponsored by the Friends of the Library is going on now. Trees and wreaths decorated by local businesses, organizations, individuals and families are on display upstairs at the library. The public is invited to this free event that will run from Monday, December 4, 2023 through Saturday, December 30, 2023. Patrons are invited to enjoy the exhibit and vote for their favorite tree.

The Library will be hosting a Used Book Sale during normal business hours, October 23rd - October 28th. Materials for the book sale are being accepted at the library. Used materials in good condition will be accepted. The library is unable to take textbooks, magazines, VHS tapes, and reference materials. Free will offerings are accepted for any items chosen from the sale.

Local Author Visit - Kathy Jutte

Kathy Jutte, former FR resident and middle school teacher, will be visiting the library on Tuesday, November 14th at 6:00 PM for a book signing of her book, "and we're testing your son for down syndrome". Kathy has written her experience with raising a child with Down Syndrome and shares how Matt taught everyone around him to see through the eyes of unconditional love. This event is free and open to the public. 

Create Your Own Succulent Garden

Join us as we create a personal succulent garden with Jenni Smith of Be You Floral. All materials and instruction are provided and the cost of the event is $20 per person. Ages 13 and up are invited to participate. Seating is limited and pre-registration and pre-payment are required. For more information or to reserve a spot, contact the library at 419-375-2869. Author Visit & Book Discussion - Jess Montgomery

Author Jess Montgomery will be visiting the library on Tuesday, October 17th, to discuss "The Echoes", the fourth book in the Kinship Historical Mysteries. Under her given name, Sharon Short, the author writes a column for Writer's Digest and was formerly a newspaper columnist for the Dayton Daily News. Feel free to bring purchased copies of the book for Jess to sign!

Local author, Janet Schoen, has recently been published in a book, "Unstoppable", a remarkable anthology featuring the transformative stories of 25 extraordinary women worldwide. Mrs. Schoen will be at the library to discuss her book on Tuesday, September 5th, at 6:00 PM. All are welcome. 

Novels At Night - Book Club Discussion Group

Novels at Night, a book club discussion group sponsored by the Friends of the Library, meets regularly on the third Monday of the month from August through May at 7:00 PM. Everyone is invited to play cards on Tuesdays at 1:00 PM at the library. There is no cost associated with this event. Patrons play pinochle, euchre and other card games.
