Babies through preschool aged children and a parent or guardian are invited to join us for Story Time at the Library. Story Times are held Tuesdays at 6:15 PM and Fridays at 10:30 AM, October through April. A full calendar is available for upcoming Story Times. No registration is required.

Summer Reading Program Finale

Headphones with Libraries RockJoin us on Wednesday, July 18th as we celebrate another successful Summer Reading Program with food and a pool party. Hot dogs, chips, and drinks will be served at 5:00 at the Shelter house at the Pool park with prizes given at 5:45. Children and their families can swim at the pool at no charge for the remainder of the evening. Thanks for participating in our 2018 Summer Reading Program!

Band Camp Calamity

Kids playing instruments in a rock bandJoin us for our own version of an "escape room" - Unlock The Box! The Band has gone to a campground for Band Camp and their music is missing. Can you help this band avoid a "Band Camp Calamity"? Register a group of 6 (kids and adults are invited) to help solve this mystery and save the Band Camp. Times are available July 6, 7, and 9. Libraries Rock words with booksThe 2018 Summer Reading Program, “Libraries Rock” was a terrific success! Thank you to all that made it possible for us to have a great summer. We are thankful for our many sponsors and volunteers that help us at the Library. Thank you to the Fort Recovery Friends of the Library and Psi Iota Xi Sorority for monetary donations that allow us to provide programming, activities, and prizes.  Thank you to Jessica Niekamp, Amy Pearson, Jenni Smith, Chris Wolterman, Hull Bros. Inc, K & L Tractor, Ambassador Pool & Lifeguards, Miller’s Dairy Drive-In & Daniel Blake from ODNR for donating their time and/or resources to the Library. There are also many businesses and organizations that donated prizes for the Summer Reading Program: COSI, Muncie Children’s Museum, Science Central, Walmart, Sauder Village, Newport Aquarium, Carillon Historical Park, African Safari Wildlife Park, Johnston Farm, Armstrong Air & Space Museum, Dayton Soc. Of Natural History, Garst Museum, Kings Island, and The Beach Waterpark. Thanks again to everyone that  donated and participated!

The Building of the Ark Encounter

Clarence Torkelson of Berne, IN will be at the Fort Recovery Public Library on Tuesday, September 11th at 6:00 pm, to share how he was involved in the life-size Noah’s Ark project in Williamstown, KY. The Ark Encounter is a family-friendly attraction that shows the vast size of Noah’s Ark, an introduction to Noah’s family, displays of the animals and more. The public is invited to this free presentation by Mr. Torkelson to learn more about this incredible project.
